Hi David - I am most sorry to inform you that it
appears that Jim Lindstrom has passed away. I was
watching the news on the weekend when it was reported
that a financial executive from the Boston area named
Jim Lindstrom had died in Negril, Jamaica after
completing a marathon. Further investigation seems to
confirm it is our Jim. I quickly notified Paula
Prager and we began calling his house, sending emails,
etc. Yesterday afternoon Paula called the city of
Lawrence where Jim used to work. She reached two
people who each told her that Jim no longer worked
there, but that they had heard he died over the
weekend. The news report was carried in the Boston
Herald on Monday, but it did not source the news. It
did, however, add that an autopsy would be performed,
presumably in Jamaica and that he had collapsed
shortly after finishing the race and being awarded a
medal. Efforts to revive him were unsuccessful. So
far, there have been no obituaries in the local
papers. I have checked the Boston Herald, the Boston
Globe, the Lawrence Eagle Tribune and the Cambridge
Chronicle. The news did appear on AOL, but for some
reason it is not there now. As it usually takes time
to complete an autopsy and ship remains, it may be a
few days before we know more. Paula and I will be
checking the news and I will update you with any
